Ain't Misbehavin' WEEK 2
Ain't Misbehavin' By: Thomas "Fats" Waller is a song about a man who is in love with a woman so he is done "misbehaving" (seeing other women or flirting with other women) because he says he is saving his love for this woman he is in love with. The quick beat and snappy drums give the song a sense of happiness and excitement that you could dance around to. The drum solo at the end gives the song a feel of what kind of emotion that the singer may be feeling which is of wanting to express his emotions for this woman and the happiness she brings him.
The drum solo in the song definitely surprised me, I thought the song was going to stay at a similar beat and tune but the drum solo completely changed the pace and gave the song a whole new feeling. The song was relatively fast but nothin crazy and then the drums came in and sped up the pace for a few measures before slowing back down and easing back into the tune that it had before. One thing that might be a little controversial is in the lyrics. The song talks about how the man is through with flirting with other women and makes it seem like it was kind of normal to see other women even though you were already with one.
I love that you showed your appreciation for the drums- they’re one of my favorite instruments and are definitely crucial in helping keep the beat and creating the rhythm and mood of the song. I was inspired to listen to this song myself, and I definitely agree that it’s a dancing type song!
ReplyDeleteI also really liked this song! And I totally agree with you about the lyrics. It is a little concerning to hear him talk about flirting with other people when he already has a girl. I also liked the snappiness of the drums. It did add a lot to the vibe of the song.
